According to several news reports, North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue won’t say if she supports President Obama’s National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) complaint against Boeing. The Obama Board filed a complaint earlier this year against America’s leading exporter for building a manufacturing facility in the right-to-work state of South Carolina. They allege that Boeing built the manufacturing plant as a form of retaliation for past strikes at their Washington-based facility.
Should the Obama Board have their way, South Carolina would lose 1,000 jobs – jobs the state can’t afford to lose in the worst economy since the Great Depression.
North Carolina, like South Carolina, is a right-to-work state, and Governor Perdue has been noticeably silent on this important issue. Will she defend her state’s right-to-work law like South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, who has been a leader in shedding light on the “rouge agency” known as the NLRB?
What if the NLRB pursued a vendetta against one of the many companies opening facilities and creating jobs North Carolina? Would she stand with Big Labor or jobs?
