The blatant pro-union activities of the National Labor Relations Board will be under scrutiny today at a Congressional hearing examining the NLRB’s “Culture of Union Favoritism.”

This hearing, conducted by the House Education and the Workforce Committee, will illustrate how the NLRB has cast aside its mission of fairly interpreting our nation’s labor laws to push for a Big Labor bailout instead.
Look at all the ways the NLRB has shown its willingness to bend the law in ways that clearly favor Big Labor over business owners and workers:
- An attack on all businesses who locate in right-to-work states through the complaint it filed against Boeing.
- Imposing “quickie elections” on workers to rig the process to favor unions.
- Allowing as few as two workers to form “micro unions.”
- Mandating that businesses post a blatantly pro-union poster in the workforce.
All these things are the result of the Obama Administration packing the NLRB with union cronies who have no desire to protect workers or help our economy. Instead, they are solely concerned about increasing the power of unions in our workforce and our businesses.
It’s clear that the Education and the Workforce Committee knows this. In its press advisory, the Committee pointed out:
“On August 26, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) issued a series of decisions that impose sweeping changes to federal labor policies. Taken together, these decisions restrict workers’ right to a secret ballot election, make it more difficult to challenge union representation, and undermine an employer’s ability to maintain unity in the workplace. In addition, the NLRB recently required employers to post a vague and biased notice of employee ‘rights’ in the workplace and is considering significant changes to the rules that govern union elections.”
