Big Labor Poised To Drop A Nuclear Option On The Senate | Big Labor Bailout

By WFI Staff

Union bosses are salivating at the thought of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid running roughshod over Senate rules – and, ultimately, the Constitution.  They’re pulling out all stops, putting the United States Senate in their target scope and willing to drop the nuclear option on one of the most cherished and long-held traditions of the American political process.

Why?  All because they want their cronies crowding the National Labor Relations Board.  It’s not enough that President Obama’s “recess” appointment gimmick has put American businesses and workers in a state of limbo.  Union bosses desperately feel the need to have their minions control the NLRB and they’ll obstruct, strong-arm or destroy anything or anyone in their path.

The latest to enter the fray over imposing the nuclear option is Richard Trumka, head of the AFL-CIO and Big Labor Bully No. 1.  Trumka raises the stakes in what has turned into an ugly showdown as union cronies attempt to literally snatch away the right of concerned lawmakers to openly question and filibuster the illegitimate and unconstitutional NLRB nominees.

Writes Kevin Bogardus in The Hill:

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka and others in the labor movement are putting intense pressure on Senate Democrats to make a controversial change to the chamber’s rules, arguing Republican obstruction of nominees justifies an unprecedented move to limit the filibuster. “Reid should pull the trigger,” Trumka said.

Trumka’s statement speaks volumes to Big Labor’s real intentions as it struggles to maintain its nefarious grip on power in Washington.  The only thing that stands between union bullies and America’s workers and businesses is hope for a little intestinal fortitude from Harry Reid – which doesn’t look promising when his Big Labor buddies are breathing down his neck.
