  • Obama’s NLRB: How Far Will They Go? | Big Labor Bailout

It seems that President Obama’s Big Labor cronies at his National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) get more brazen by the day. They’ve failed to comply with Congressional subpoenas, and are now seeking out their payback from the president—no matter what it does to the United States’ already faltering economy. Their actions leave us wondering: what won’t they do? How far will they go?

A piece in today’s Townhall points out that when it comes to going around Congress to ensure their demands are met, the NLRB has no shame, no matter how badly the regulations they are pushing would hurt American business. From Michael Uremovich’s piece:

“The White House disingenuously tries to distance itself from the NLRB by repeatedly referring to it as an “independent” agency over which it has no control. But it is President Obama who put unabashed union partisans in charge of the agency. Obama appointed Lafe Solomon, the architect of the Boeing complaint, as the agency’s acting general counsel to take the place of a long-term agency employee who was already serving in that position. And Obama recess-appointed Craig Becker, a labor radical in favor of micro-units and quickie elections, after he failed to receive sufficient support in the Senate due to his extreme views.”

Indeed—when given the opportunity, the White House has either stayed mum, as they did when the NLRB attacked Boeing for creating thousands of new jobs in the right-to-work state of South Carolina, or come down squarely on the side of Big Labor. We all know that President Obama owes a large debt to union boss allies for his 2008 election, if he wants that support to continue for 2012.

The president’s increasingly desperate claims that he has no control over his own agency are falling on deaf ears. Particularly when that same agency takes radical steps to undermine Congress and push Big Labor’s agenda on the American workforce at a time when we need all the new jobs (and job creators) we can get.

  • Union Bosses to Striking Verizon Workers: “Torture Them” | Big Labor Bailout

We are no longer surprised by the depths to which union bosses will plunge in order to assert their job-killing agenda on American businesses. In a story breaking today, a recording has surfaced of a CWA union boss telling striking workers to harass and “torture” other Verizon employees as they try to do their jobs.

Incidents are continuing to crop up, no doubt at the direction of union bosses: Striking workers are blowing air horns and creating other distractions for employees at Verizon work sites, and earlier this month a striking CWA member placed his 12-year old daughter in front of a Verizon truck to block its path. None of this is surprising, particularly when you consider some of the tactics unions have employed in the past.

In the chilling recording reported today, CWA local union boss Chris Calabrese instructs striking workers that “it’s open season…torture them. Torture them with chants and noises.”
